LGB steam tram...

I bought one of exactly the same model (same livery) via German eBay a year or so ago - lovely little item, managed to convert it to MTS and sound quite easily with a Massoth LS slid into the boiler and a 40mm speaker in the coal bunker!

This loco has of course been available (in many different colour schemes, and with periodic mechanism upgrades) almost since LGB began, but I think this black and green version is one of the nicest.

I bought one at Watts Train Shop in Indiana, USA on trip through town about 4 years ago. It was an older model, but was new/unused. I used it for a while and sold it on, for the same money I paid for it new.

Says it has 'smoke'. I was not aware that the tram had ever had smoke - certainly the newer ones dont.

Indeed it is still available now direct from the Maerklin shop for 299 Euros
Or only £230 from Dragon G Scale.

Yes, I thought that was a little odd too, Alan - as far as I'm aware you are right, no version of the steam tram has ever been made with factory-fitted smoke, or at least none that I've ever seen or read about. I suppose it is possible to retro-fit a Stainz straight stack with smoke element, maybe this has been done with this particular one, or maybe not.....

I no longer buy from this seller as almost everything I've bought from them has either been described wrong or faulty in some way. They also over charge on shipping.

I guess it is a bit of a crap shoot but I regularly buy from Trainz and have never been disappointed......................Paul.......
