LGB - MTS 2 Compatability

I currently have a MTS 2 control system , which works with all my currrent loco's ( piko and lgb ) .
I recently bought a new Trainline45 Mallet , which came with a Massoth sound decoder and Massoth pulsed smoke unit .
The loco would run for approx . 8 minutes and stop . If I switched my mts off and on it would work again for another 8 Minutes .
The loco has now been fitted with a Zimo decoder , which works with my mts .
Has anyone else had similar issue's ?
 
I was talking to Matt in GRS about this last Friday - apparently it is a (now) known problem that affects these locos when used with MTS1 or MTS2, but not with MTS3 (or, presumably, Massoth Dimax systems). TL45 really seem to be having a lot of teething troubles with the Mallet..... :(

I tried the Massoth equipped loco with a friend's Massoth control system and it worked .
So it would seem that there is a compatabilty issue with mts 2 .
 
There are reports from several sources of this 'feature'..
Recent software changes (possibly firmware as well) will be to blame, I reckon.
Pretty sure the chances of this being 'fixed' are low to zero.. So, the end of MTS I / II 's life then. - At least with latest stock / decoders??
 
The Zimo decoder that is fitted to my mallet seems to work well with my mts2 . So hopefully this will extend the life of my mts system .
I have several Massoth equipped locos , which I fitted myself . They all work with my MTS 2 . It would seem that the latest generation of massoth decoder is different .
Probably at some point in the future . I will need to change my control system , to allow other makes of decoder to be used . But this will happen when funds permit !
