I believe that they are only suitable for indoor use only Steve, but I guess it would be okay to use it outside in good weather?

Although, I've heard you've got a habit of leaving controllers out when it rains....

they are weather proof and were designed for the very purpose

ive left mine outside this season from about april until mondya this week-all summer in some heavy rain (for COlorado) and its fine-since we have received 30" of snow since wednesday and it was predicted i thought id spare it -since LGB has become scarce im much more careful

however the smart thing to do is to cover it with a plastic food container-helps (which is what i am now doing-just keeps it nicer and less dusty -kepps th brunt of stuff out-but its not necessary-but....
when it comes to high UV like we have here -very little holds up more than a few years without some deterioration, fading and brittleness

Left mine out all last year. No problem.
They are outdoor, not to be confused with the green one which is "indoor only"

Nah! Mine sat in an unheated shed for the best part of 5 years with no ill effects at all. Mind you, mine were northern MTS, not namby-pamby stuff. :D Seriously, it is a lot more resilient than you might think, provided moisture is not liable to enter the casings.

i got two of these, but without the housing.
when i still used them outside i stole two tupperware pots from the kitchen, for casing.
they are designed to stay outside, but they are electronics.
and i never got the impression, that electronics and weather combine well.
