Purchased controller but it did not come with wire leads for connection to transformer. Does anyone know where these may be available for purchase or a way to improvise, picture of garden controller shed enclosed

Hi Daniel,

You can use any two conductor zip-cord for the transformer to controller connection. I recommend 18 awg (American wire gauge) minimum. An old extension cord will work fine. A pair of spade lugs will make the connection easier and more secure. One thing to be aware of. I don't believe these old 5012 controllers have built in rectifiers and they need to be powered by 16-22V DC. Maybe another member can confirm or deny. There should be a symbol by the input (the knurled connections on the right) that indicates AC, DC or both. I can't make it out in the photo you posted. Standard banana plugs can be used for the track connections (locomotive symbol). You can check this out with a VOM test lead - it should plug right in. Banana plugs can be found just about anywhere speaker wire is sold such as Best-Buy, etc. The first photo is the box flap from the 5006 Transformer showing connection to the 5012. The second is of crimp-on spade lugs left and banana plugs on the right.
