LGB 20670 issue

I looked and did find the spring. From the diagram it looks like the spring goes above the cleaning unit lip which would tension the lip down. It could go underneath. I can't tell for sure and haven't found a photo or diagram that will show it clearly. I would appreciate any help on this. Thanks.
