LGB 2-4-0 Shorty

Regarding the above loco, I have chipped it via the direct decoder, and in general, works fine. However, sometimes, particularly on a set of points, but not all the time, changes direction on its own, and starts going backwards. Any ideas what is causing this. I do have return loop automatic things, for turning circles, but no other loco does this.

My guess would be skates shorting on the frogs, causing the ?reverse loop? module(s) to fire ??
Try bending the outside of the skates up slightly.
