G scale points are electrofrog.

Au contre. LGB points are insulated frog, that's why stuff stalls on them. However, you are correct in your post about them being non isolating.
The way they are 'jump' wired, gives them the same characteristics as an electrofrog, in that insulators are necessary in certain layout situations.

Yes Gavin your answer is correct and more precise than mine. I was using the terms insulfrog and electrofrog carelessly.
