i dont know brain, you never saw my pipes!!
todays been a day were lots got done, but nothing to see..
street lighting,building lighting and track feeds ring mains went in..
eyelet bolt went into the sub-structurt , every 4ft.. and a large cable tye was losely fastened to the eyelet bolt.. the cables are then threaded through the cable tyes.. so now theres a lighting cable, with in 4ft off all the buildings,same for the streetlamps, and track feeds.. cables terminate inside the fleet storagee fciliaty..(shead)

bigger cable is more resistant to abuse from the wildlife.. and keeping it =off the ground helps ..

Good thinking Mike...........Foxes made camp under me decking winter before last and chomped through all of my connections to the power boxes for lighting etc. The spurs to the boxes where short runs from the main armoured cable (that I had sunk in the ground) but the spurs were hanging down in a couple of places under the decking and the little cubs used them for chewing practice.
Had to take down the surrounding fence panels and then take up the flooring planks to get at the ravished cables.
They have been replaced with more armoured runs and do not hang down any more........wildlife eh? :impatient: Should have left the run to the decking live...that might have done the trick!

Are you building your own led streetlights or using bought kit?

im re ferbishing the lgb one i ve salvaged from the last lazy mike, for the village.. they were converted to leds. last time.. but i might as well ,fit new leds, again.ive already cut the large curiclure base off them, i use a alloy tube to plug them into the base off the pavements.. . the station will be getting miniture scale models 12 volt victorian lamposts...

i bought 16 off them last year at the 16mmm show, they are a lot finer detailed than the lgb ones.. plus theycan be bolted into the platform.,which is goingto be made from upvc soft bord..

The miniature scale jobbies look real nice...I might even be able to get away with a few on my American themed station platform. I will be at the 16mm show tomorrow so maybe even in the market for a few.......thanks for the heads up Mike
