It's the nearest thing to a scale model I've seen from RH - maybe it's the satin finish paint and finer details. I'd be very happy to own one.

I've figured it out.

It's the pilot beam!!!!!

It's rivetted!

And not held on with slot-head screws!!!

I might just have to invest in one of these locos now.

The buffer beam is an overlay of thin sheet. They have been available for years.

Wrong! - my Roundhouse 'Leek and Manifold' came from the factory with brass buffer overlays in 2013 - and my RH 'Atlantic' came with standard factory fitted overlays and rivets in 2011 ....
