I know that the quality will be much better, but with Trainline doing them both I wonder if this is a good plan by Kiss? I would certainly be much more interested if they were to do a rerun of 99 5906. And if you wonder why, it is a very different beast with both Bogies being inside framed whilst 5902/3 had inside frames on the front bogie only plus of course lots of other detail differences between the two types.

The models are illustrated on the fgb berlin website the model was produced several years ago as 99 5901 and 99 5902 but a fire at the Kiss warehouse in Germany resulted in most being destroyed. Fortunately for me mine was despatched before the fire a picture of it exists on the YDGS website in the media section under David.M baden meinhoff. The cost then was £1600 which will now probably look like a bargain, my reason for purchase I wanted a Mallet. Yes the Loco is superbly detailed and runs impeccably the sound unit by ESU is Ok for the time but would today benefit from an upgrade to a Zimo with Dappen sound. The only problem is matching it with equally detailed rolling stock.
