jackson Sharp > Leek & Manifold coach bash

For those who are interested (or just curious), I've detailed the construction of these coaches on my blog.

As always, I am not purporting to be any kind of expert, but hoping that it might help others who might want to have a go (even if it's to say, well I wouldn't do it like that!).

Great blog - I've bookmarked it! Well detailed.

Thanks folks
Nice to know that people do read my blog and find it useful. As with all of my builds, now I've done it, I know what I should have done. Hopefully the blog will help if someone decides to have a go themselves so they can make some short-cuts in the build process which I only discovered afterwards.

An excellent conversion and a brilliant guide, very informative and gives someone with my skills the confidence to actually think about having a go myself :) One question Rik if I may? when you lengthened the balconies, did you have to extend the bars from the bogies for the couplers?

Many thanks,
Ricky

Hi Ricky,
No, I left the coupling bars as they were. I decided that I could get away with extending the balconies another 10mm without interfering with the couplings. I did consider extending the balconies further to make them more like the L&M originals, but decided that as the coaches were happy to negotiate my tight curves as they were, I wouldn't risk interfering with that for the sake of a tiny bit more realism - ie leave well alone.
