It's been a while... but work started!

Hey guys,
I used to post a couple of years back on G Scale Mad but I have been working away for a while and sadly it came to an end.... but I did come across this wonderful place for us to all carry on and looking through I have seen some familiar names. I have posted a couple of old pictures from when our railway was first laid, maybe a few people will recognise it.

My Dad has been taking good care of it all while I have been away but I have been back for a few weeks and we came up with the idea to lay double track all the way around and change the layout slightly.....
After a good few days of digging, skimming turf, carrying bucket after bucket of chippings it starting to look rather nice :) After careful calculations and re laying the track.... it turns out we are just a couple of foot short of completing the inner loop so awaiting the arrival of those in the post... lots of leveling and cleaning to do but I have added a few photos of the new sections. Bring on the continued summer days and many hours of entertainment!

I'm sure all the extra hard work will pay off. Double tracking makes the raiway much more interesting to run and watch. Keep up the good work.

Nice - I like the viaduct from decking - giving me ideas it is.
 
Thanks everyone, good to be back! Work has been going well.... the original idea for the viaduct was to cover it in chicken wire, then try and cover with cement or something similar to give it a stone look. After me and my dad finished it we decided it looked pretty cool as it was so kept it as it was. Glad it has been inspiring :)
 
Hi, it's good to see you back, the gambian type retainers on the lead up to the viaduct look interesting, have you a close up piccie per chance
