My phone contract had come to an end a month ago. On Friday morning I wandered out of work and walked just a couple of minutes to the Three shop and picked up an iPhone 5S - no queuing or anything uncivilised.
The price makes this phone something of an extravagance but as mentioned in the tablet thread Apple stuff is pleasant to use. I found the 5S to be as pleasant as expected. The fingerprint security works very well and is good to use. It should be noted that it can't read the fingerprint of a 6 month old baby. It does work noticeably faster than my iPhone 4. Overall I am quite impressed. The screen is bright and clear and the transfer of apps worked fine. The one exception being the app which links into my work network - haven't missed that over the weekend.
For us at GSC I expect the most important thing is how good is the camera. I think its very good for a phone but you can't expect it to be in the same league as a DSLR. I have posted a couple of videos - see http://youtu.be/VlqHyvxiZCM and http://youtu.be/GpxlnXgqtt0 .
And here are some photos
I must confess to cheating on this one. My garage and shed were in the background so I greened them out by adding extra bushes
So far so good but the panorama mode doesn't work well with a garden railway
Oh, an apparently you can use it to make phone calls.
