Hello DCC Colleages - I sold a customer a Massoth XL DCC Driving/Power Decoder who tried to install it into his LGB F7A Diesel on the factory-installed interfaces. The LGB Owner's Instructions call for installing two LGB 55021 DCC Decoder, of course not produced anymore, so the substitute is Massoth L DCC Decoder, one for each motor. He's asked me for advice on why the locomotive runs in a jerky mode. Not being an expert in the old LGB MTS/DCC Interface technology, my only thought is the factory-main board can't handle sharing the DCC input from one 4 amp decoder instead of two separately attached 2 amp decoders.
Can anyone confirm my theory and advice to instead use two Massoth L Decoders instead of the one XL Decoder. Or someone advise how he can wire the installation so the factory-main board interface will work properly using only one Massoth XL DCC decoder?
Thanks!
