Ikarus bus in 1:24 or thereabouts

I'm looking for an Ikarus bus as part of the scenery for my layout. Any postwar model like 55, 66, 31, 630. Either as kit or model. I can find 1:43 models from Ixo but they are far too small. Any ideas?
Or something I can kitbash - maybe something similar from Playmobil?
Thanks, Dave

Dave, I know this is an AEC Duple but it has a similar appearance to that you are looking for. I've got one in the loft - a bit knocked about - but restorable. I paid £20 for it about 15 years ago. It was used on my 1/32nd tram layout so is probably only suitable for gauge 1. There wasn't much bus or coach wise produced in 1/24th scale. The Heller Renault TN6 might provide you with a starting point if you wanted to attempt a 'bash'.

Thanks Mike. As you say the AEC Duple is a bit small at 280mm long.

I like the Heller kit, maybe I can find another East German coach that looks like that!

I may pluck up the courage to ask the owner of Rigomodell how much his models are, probably too much for some scenic adornment. :-)

The only place that I know that the "Paris" style buses were used apart from France (obviously) was Warsaw, some lasting up to around 1950. I bought a book called "Warszawskie Autobusy" when I was there a few years ago and they seem to have had a "thing" about French built buses before the 50's, and again from the '70's when they built Renaults there under licence. There is even a photo in there of an ex Plymouth Leyland Titan double decker in service amongst the ruins of Warsaw in 1946!

Can't immediately think of any Eastern Bloc buses of that style that would have been used in the DDR - though you could always have a scenario that an ex Paris/Warsaw one ended up there during WW2 and was never sent back........
