A friend of ours had the philosophy of never lying to his children (eg no such thing as tooth fairy and Santa Claus, etc) and explaining absolutely anything and everything.
After telling off his 8 year old son for some misdemeanour, his upset son replied .... "You.... you b*gg*r!"
So his dad carefully explained to him what exactly it means and they both agreed that maybe it wasn't an apt description of him.
