I did hear (at second hand) of one lady who went to S***s****s several times for new specs which they happily kept selling her, inexplicably omitting to tell her that what she actally needed was a cataract op...
My wife went back to Boots and they found hers straight away, and after a successful op she can now see and no longer need wear glasses most of the time. Caveat emptor....
