Hello everyone, I hope today finds you well and blessed. I am planning a garden railroad in my back yard. It's 80' by 75', and is planned to be interactive for my special needs nephews. It is a mountain based layout and I will be having a few dump truck load of dirt come in. I am new to this scale, though I plan to sop up as much information on it as possible. I've heard excellent ideas of dead rail, but I am not handy installing electronics onto trains.

I hope to learn from people here on this forum, and share my progress over the years.

Take care!

Hi Dusten,
Welcome to the Forum!

Dead rail can be quite simple..
You can more or less plug everything together, and only have two wires to connect to the motor(s).

You can make it more complicated, if you want lights etc. But to get something running is not difficult.

Welcome, Dusten. You'll get all the advice you need on here. Beware of the humour though. Dead rail is gaining popularity now with the advent of newer battery technologies, although there are drawbacks, the main being having to fit the batteries in a loco or wagon. Opening up and playing around with your brand new expensive engine is quite daunting.

Welcome to the forum Dusten D Dbarefoot12 , I am in the garden exclusively dead rail. Lots of how to in the Battery section. No body knows how to do battery installation till they do their first one.

Welcome aboard Dustin.
