How to contact Jurassic Models

Anybody know how to get hold of Jurassic models ? Tried e-mail details on Summerlands site but no response (didn't bounce back).

Bit frustrating as I gave them my details to contact me when SAR coach set was available and noted they say they are doing a run this summer on above mentioned site. Bit frustrating as I have nothing else "prototypical" to run behind my NGG16. Any ideas ? Max.

Thank you Alan. Tried the e-mail you have posted but no success, same as on Summerlands site.
Will have to go the snail mail route then I suppose. Does not bode well in my mind as it indicates that communications with Jurassic might prove long winded and problematic. Might not bother.

Pity as I spotted these items 5 years ago at the 16 mm NGM show on Triassic/Jurassic stand. Sadly originator passed away and they then showed up 2 years later at a 16 mm NGM show and put my name down straight away, with full contact details. Last spoke to them 18 months ago and not heard anything since - until a chance view of the Summerlands site had a page for them stating a planned run "Summer 2016". Very frustrating. Max

Have you had a look at Worsley Works?
Thanks for the tip.......not really what I'm looking for and not comfortable with large soldering jobs (lack of skills and kit). Think I have the skills to do a competent job on laser cut wood and small soldering jobs(brass/white metal). Max

Soldering isn't as bad as it sounds.

I can't think of anyone else who does SA models - if you want a couple built over the winter, send me a PM.

Alan at Worsley Works will d=etch any of his catalogued models in any scale. For G scale, he tends to etch in nickel silver which can be soldered with a 50w iron and 145 degree solder with separate liquid flux - which suddenly makes soldering a whole lot easier.

This is one of his locos :nod: in a bit of a blur

Ah, the bit I forgot - due to the size of G scale models, etched kits can be b****y expensive.

Wondering aloud - could you make one up, and cast some resin moulds?

Or wot about 3D printing? If you really need a serious amount of stock, it would be worth buying a printer :nod:

Yup, I fully understand large scale metalworks costs - got a set of those nice Carworks Darjeeling coaches.

Really don't want to get into self origination - been there done that with my own bizz. Just want a nice set of laser cut SA coaches. Even got one of those GRS WHR jobs part built lying around. I lost the will to live trying to follow their instruction sheet, even with their (sympathetic) builder walking me through it. They are £250 a pop with axles & bogies. Sigh Max.

Ah well, Alan's WW etchings wouldn't get near that - I think he's around £140 per sheet, and I would have thought that you could get a wagon out of a sheet :think:

Thing is I'm really looking for a "turn key" kit. I really can't be bothered with messing around with getting all the bits together from all over the place. Not what I'm into. Seriously thinking of chopping in my little used Accy' NGG16 for a nice new lined RH Darj' Garratt due to lack of appropriate stock. Plenty of period Darjeeling stuff out there though.

Take a look at the past output of the likes of Rio Grande UK, Perfect World, Hartford, Brandbright, Yatton and even IP and you'll see what I like. I think some of the "minority" suppliers might make wider sales if they took that approach, upped their customer service and didn't act as if they were all doing us a favour. Rant over. Max.

Yeah, I like the priniciple of a complete kit, but I've had little experience of laser cut kits, apart from the Banta crewcab that I made last year.

Hartford and Brandbright have gone, Rio Grande UK are limited, and I think it's all the result of it being such a small market.

Worsley Works have never tried to supply complete kits. Their original concept was 'scratch aid' - but the thing has just grew, as they say.

I think laser cutting could still get better for the hobby. Brandbright's stuff was probably top of the tree, but nobody was prepared to buy the business from them. Ivan's IP range is diveres, and some go together better than others :nod::nod:
