Holiday In Spain; Bring Your Loco!

Dear All, we have a large house in southern Spain with three holiday apartments, a G Scale railway in the garden and around the pool. The house is on the edge of the town of Orgiva in the shadows of the Sierra Nevada mountains, about 40 minutes from Granada and about 80 minutes from Malaga.

Now that the railway is built, running on analogue track power using a Train Engineer, it's ready for others to use it. We have a website here: www.orgiva.org.uk where you can see the house and apartments. We also have a Facebook page here: www.facebook.com/casasantafilomena which shows some of the other activites we get up to.

I've posted pictures of the railway here: www.gscalecentral.net/threads/tidenham-chase-to-southern-spain.306428/

If you'd like to make an enquiry, please use the contact form on our website and if you mention G Scale Central you'll get a 10% discount. If you do come, bring one of your locos if you can, or use the one's we have and the rolling stock.

That sounds like a good idea - in fact I have thought in the past that it would be nice to take a loco on vacation - I would love to take my Accucraft NA to the Puffing Billy railway in Oz for a photo shoot with its full size counterpart.

But the thing that puts me off is how do you convince the various customs authorities that some sort of import duty, processing charge, licence fee, VAT, or whatever, is not payable?

Not a problem, if your only going as far as Spain. :)

Yes - but my holiday starts after June 23 - what happens then will be a mess.

Mind you, it'll be a small price to pay for all the other benefits we'll be getting .... :)

I've just updated the website: www.orgiva.org.uk I hope to add a gallery of other pictures and some video, once I get my head around the process.

For those that may be interested, the discount is still available to forum members.

Mike.
