Welcome indeed! Apart from the somewhat odd take on humour that we enjoy here - something that I'm sure you'll be able to contribute to one way or another - you might find long-lost relatives, too!

My father's ancestors went to Ireland in about 800 - 900 AD, and left a more than just a reputation for sturdy cars and flat-pack furniture-making! Our family name means raider or plunderer in Old Irish, and a check of my genetic sample made in the early noughties showed that there was still almost 70% Southern Scandinavian genetic match.
