Hello, my name is Mike. I have been slowly getting into g scale (as much as I can budget) I have a raised layout in the works. All of my trains are rc battery power. I wanted to start with a decent size layout, but could not afford metal track with points. I opted for newqida track and points. I have quite a few newqida locos and rolling stock. I love the quality of lgb and pick up as much as I can at shows. My plan is to replace the newqida track with metal, but continue with battery power.20170312_124026.jpg 20170305_140708.jpg

Welcome Mike. Nice collection of LGB trains. RC seems a sensible way to operate - track power can be a pain sometimes!

Morning (well, it is here) and welcome.

Thank you for the warm welcome. The layout is a work in progress. The next step is to build my train shed, I am planning it to be 16'×9' once that is done I will finalize and expand the layout.

I'm not sure there are more than 1 or 2 good train stores with G scale anywhere? No - not in Fort Myers.

We do have a fair number of g-scale train-ers. FGRS (http://www.fgrs.org/) will give you some 'meet' ideas. I've been posting (on LSC) about a couple:

Personally, I live in a condo so I have no track - just a lot of small engines cluttering up the spare room. I run them at Jack's Calusa Creek in Fort Myers (which is 20 miles from where I live on the Beach.) Oh, and 1 big engine:
which runs at the TARR (Tradewinds Park track.)

Hello Mike, welcome!
I have some a couple of RC Powered trains also.
I like your elevated layout! Thinking of doing that with any future changes to my layout.
Paul

Welcome aboard Mike.

Welcome and enjoy
