Hello From Southern Spain

Hello, I'm Mike and have just moved to southern Spain from the Middle East, where my gaden railway had been packed in boxes for a decade. I've recently resurrected it and had great fun running my engines, 8 LGB, 1 Mamod and a Pearse live steam. The track is about 60 yards worth, a mixture of LGB rigid and flexible, Tenmille flexible and Accucraft rigid. I use a Train Engineer for control of the LGB locos.

There's not many sources for G scale stuff here, I'm in the Alpujarras, so tend to pick stuff up online, or during visits to the UK. This looks like a great source of information and a gathering of like minded souls.

Welcome to the forum Mike..

We could do with some nice, warm sunny pictures when you have a minute..

Thanks for the welcome. I don't have any photos yet but have 2 very short videos, links below:

That is a fantastic setting for a railway! Very tidy indeed, nice to see some 'interesting' plants that differ from our English ones. I shall follow this railway closely. May I suggest starting a picture 'thread' under g scale pictures. I find this a good way to document the years as they pass. Is that rope to make a track bed border? And a swimming pool!? I hate you....;)

Yes, the rope is to retain the ballast. It's weathering very nicely after a couple of months. Sorry sbout the pool; I hate myself!

The dogs reaction is amusing too! I like the rope idea, I would not have thought of that in a million years. How have you secured it in place?

Very nice indeed.
Having a swim in warm sun whilst watching trains rumble by...now there is a fine way of relaxing!
Welcome to the forum Mike from another Mike

Now that definitely brightened up a damp dismal morning.. Thank You!
