I am a new to large scale model railroading. I have an extensive HO collection/setup, but was finding it to difficult, and painful at times,
to tinker with such small parts. My "man cave" bar is named The Station, with a Railroad theme.
I hope the garden train draws attention in my beer garden ...... and keep me occupied through the long cold New York winters.

Welcome Mekos 1952 (vintage ?). Is your beer garden a commercial operation ? I find myself heading in the opposite direction scale wiee as I age, vintage 1956. Getting difficult stooping down to the ground, even though part of my line is raised. Yes, installing a large scale model railway is a way of encouraging footfall in establishments. There are one or two in the UK, example, one in a bookshop trundling about above the shelves, at Barter Books in Alnwick. Max

Mekos, welcome to the G-scale forum.
I hope you will share your G-scale adventure by showing some pictures, they say more than the words.
Referring to your "mancave" i show you mine in the pics below.
I combine playing with G-scale trains with playing drums in a sixties beat band.
I use my train depot room also as rehersal room by applying wite covers over the tracks on the floor that acts as a bench.
To increase room for more trains i build 4 layers of depot tracks using an electric lift.

Welcome to the Forum! I take it your beer garden is indoors? It's a bit chilly to be sitting outside with a cold beer...
Mekos; I feel your pain...!! I'm in Ottawa, Ontario, and am packed up for the Winter. We have retreated to the Indoor Railway Company Boardroom for ventures into preventing the loss of any fine ale due to too long storage. The IPP&W Railway will again start serving its many customers around the 24th of May (Some call it "The Queen's Birthday") www.ovgrs.ca
