Welcome to the forum you will find lots of expertise and ideas and help here.
I'm sure lots of us start into G scale not intending to do much with it, but it grows on you! However, because of old age and its effects and space, I am limited in what I can do, but it's surprising how much you can get into a 7 foot by 5 foot space. Depending on how you approach things, train lengths are limited to two or three pieces of rolling stock, but there is still fun in this and relaxation just watching the train go by.

No worries, easy to hit the wrong button when you are new to a system and trying to get to grips with how it all works. Been on here ages myself graduating to a Moderator and still do dumb things.

Welcome to the Forum, Mario! LGB make everything that you need: track, rolling stock and locomotives -with plenty of choice of German prototypes. You can't really go wrong, as their stuff is sturdy and reliable. I can't comment on DCC as I use steam and battery power, but there are plenty of people who can advise on which systems are available, and the advantages/disadvantages of each of them.

If you are starting out may I suggest that you give Battery Power a good look.Deltang and Phil in here plus Fosworks all supply battery related Transmitters, recievers some with speed control others with speed control ability plus if tou want it My Loco Sound can be attached to them as well. There are other battery ootions, Piko has a system plus in the USA there are a few as well.

A few for you to look at, great benefit for you in a hot possibly sea laden or dusty atmosphere is no track cleaning required to keep trains connected to power.
