Thanks for the kind words. I try to walk folks trough my little mangles, even though I'm not the world's most talented builder, in order to help give them the courage and confidence to try. Both building and weathering are a lot like the old bit of "how do you eat an elephant?"... you just take one bite (baby step) at a time.
--BTW The nice thing about the chalks and powders route is they simply wash off if you really mess it up (the down side is they cost more and are prone to smudging until you seal them)
You can also wash off the craft store acrylic paints I use. - if you do it within something like 5 minutes.... The rattle can enamel oversprays, not so much.
