This was my first visit to the Garden Railway Show at Barrow Hill Roundhouse having previously been to shows at Elsecar. The venue exceeded all expectations. What a great idea to hold a Garden Railway Show in a Roundhouse. I have always felt that is preferable to hold a Garden Railway Event with an appropriate attraction nearby. The Garden Show at Llanfair Caereinon coupled with the Welshpool and Llanfair Railway springs to mind. I am aware that there will not be a Garden Show there next year. So onto some photos:

And you seemed to have got a few bargains as well...lol

I really enjoyed seeing the number of Class 44/45 locos there and the sound of the Sulzer engine brought back long gone memories. Travelling behind one was quite special. More about this in my next thread.

The converted 08 in the strange green was interesting to see, there are a couple of projects to ‘green’ up 08’s using the original drive train to get round re-certification rules that can easily break a small new build.

Was a good little show, good amount of LGB for sale, from Chalk / Tony Green / Malcs model's etc... , and a lovely sunny day. I was nearly at the front of the line to get in so was surprised to see how many cars were in the car park when i left, had a lovely traction engine going up a down in front of the cafe.
