yes Dutch... depends on how they are powered series or parallel. Still in parallel only 1 current limiting resistor is needed calculated for the total current required eg 5 x 20 mA leds draws 100mA....The guy I buy heaps of LEDs from has this LED calculator which is handy....

I just bought 100 3 pin red/green 3mm leds for au$1 lol..... I only need 12 but if I bought them seperatly I'd have paid AU$1ea.....

If a common resistor is used for a group of LEDs in parallel it is as well to remember that if any LED lights go open circuit the rest of the current is divided between the remainder of the LEDs. If many fail the rest will go pop due to overcurrent.

I have train lamps with LEDs made ??of stainless steel tubes, 3,5 V/20mA.
