I have just come across LGB g-scale 600mm straight track from Argos......
Prices are £13.59.
The number of the track is given as 10600....

Does this make sense too anybody, good or bad ?

£9.95 from Andrew at Garden Rail Centres. But then his prices have always been highly competitive.

The first two sites I checked (Dragon and Garden Railway Centres) both have this item for £9.95. Argos would only be better if you wanted just one piece and can do a free 'click-and-collect' so avoiding p&p. Otherwise you are much better off going to the specialist shops.

Even less second hand, remember it is Elephant Proof so if it looks OK but is just Dirty why worry! Remember any you buy new will get Dirty Too!

Cheers guys, that's just saved me a row with her in doors,,,

:P You could conveniently leave off 'per foot' when quoting price of longer lengths when telling her ''ow much' rail costs........ :-X

Are they free delivery though ?
Well you could try visting their web sites, clicking on the item and then viewing the "basket". Or try giving them a ring and asking. I find Andrew at GRC very amenable to doing a deal. Max.

Thanks for the input guys...... :D
Although whilst I was trying ta buy the 4 sections of 600mm track they had left some body got there first mid payment.... :'(

I have however managed ta get their last 5 300 mm sections for £30 odd quid so can at least start some of my layout ideas..... ;)

My son visited today and agreed that I may have now found a happy medium between modelling my railway in the loft ( for now ) and using the surround sound cinema system we also have .....
Anyway, he did make a good point that I had not thought of..... I told him about missing out on the purchase of the 600 mm LGB track as my pay-pal was playing up.
As he states, those items were in my basket and as such should have been mine for a limited period.....
It took only minutes to get my account sorted.

Any body else experienced this ?

Ebay do make the point that it ain't yours until you pay!

New LGB track now retails for around £6 per foot, so I would expect to pay £6 for LGB 10000 straights and 11000 curves and £12 for a 10600 straight.

I would also consider second hand LGB track for which I would expect to pay £3 per foot....

Gutted... Am currently searching for more new LGB track, mainly straights...
Have used up Garden Railways stock but even on da bay the prices not good. :(
Does anyone know of another supplier of new LGB track that actually has some in stock ?

Chalk Garden Rail have quite bit of track both lgb and piko

You do not need to restrict your researches to LGB alone. LGB, Piko, Aristocraft, AMS/Accucraft, USA Trains, Trainline and Bachmann brass code 332/45 mm gauge track are all cross compatible. There might be some variance in sleeper spacing but otherwise much the same. Tenmille also do a code 332 track system but you will need adaptors to fit it with the others. There are also makers of bespoke track elements, e.g. GRS, who use LGB code 332 rail as a basis. Things like Y points and single/double slips, etc'. Max.
