Has anyone within a reasonable distance of North West Leicestershire got an ESU programmer and software they would be willing to either lend or reprogram a couple of locos?
Failing that could someone give a blow by blow "how to" account for the tweaks I wish to perform?
I'm to much of a cheapskate to purchase an ESU programmer for the very limited use I need.
If I know what to alter my navigator and/ or LGB 55045 with Massoth software should suffice.
To be specific I have two locos with ESU LokSound XL V4.0 decoders and different sound files that I'd like to customise.
I have accessed ESU’s web site, the English instructions are for the 4th Edition, May 2012. I have a later printed German language version but my German is very poor.
One loco, with sound file 54588, I'd like to assign a presently unused function button (F11) to switch an 18V bulb on the AUX2 output of the decoder.
If I understand the 4th Edition instructions this means that I’ll need to set CV 32 to 2 and CV 458 to 8. However the example in these instructions (for AUX 3) state “For this example to work the AUX3 output must also be switched on. This is explained in chapter 12.3.” Sadly my reading of this chapter doesn’t help me.
The second loco has sound file 54509 with both the sound on/off and AUX1 functions on button F1. I'd like to control these separately with sound remaining on F1 but control AUX1 with F10 (and AUX2 with F11 as with the first loco). In addition the second loco will have LEDs rather than bulbs so I'll need to add the special function for LEDs to both F0 and F11.
