I am looking for a second hand draft fan for my meths fired live steamer that is finally ready to fire up. Thanks. Mike

You are probably better off ordering a new one from Peter Spoerer, his prices are a lot less than Aster and are better made.

I'm not sure that Mr Spoerer is still in the business of selling stuff like that. Anyhow, Mr Dodger lives in the USA, and would be far more likely to get one from Jim at Southern Steam Trains. Cheaper, for sure, not having to pay the UK price including 20% taxes and international shipping, right?

BTW, in the USA it is called simply 'alcohol firing'.

Tac, they are still on his price list and being export there should be no. VAT and being a small items will not cost that much to post as will be small enough to send by Royal Mail International Signed-for. I don't believe the US charge the same level of import charges as the EU countries do.

Well, I suggested Jim at Southern Steam Trains because he is in the USA, like the OP. [shrug emoticon]

Yep, Peter Spoerer has retired and shut up shop. Someone else is doing the electronic bits, but I'm not sure about this piece of kit. He'd also farmed out the lining pens quite some time ago :nod:

I see quite a bit of Peter Spoerer, a fellow Gauge 1-er but possessed of the wonderful White Horse Railway in deepest Narfulk, unlike myself with a teeny roundy-round. He still offers sage advice, but as you note, he is now a retired gentleman, but one who continues to sell Gauge 1 RTR locomotives and rolling stock under the name of Pete Spoerer. His business has been taken over by Steve Foster of Fosworks, I have his mobile number if anybody wishes to make contact with him about G1 stuff and their conversion to r/c using Fosworks kit.
