Does anyone know if LGB ever made an Austrian version of Nikki+Frank S? I was looking through some old modelling magazines from 10-12 years ago and came across a couple of articles showing the LGB HF110C Nikki+Frank S lettered and numbered as OBB 798.03. I am not sure if these have been modified, or if LGB made an OBB version a few years ago. If so, does anyone know the catalogue number?

You may be interested in an article in the latest Gartenbahn profi magazine (3/2020 page 60) on the Nicki S and Frank S. The article includeds details and photos of Nicki S in Austria.

Ah, zombie thread….appeared.
I’m pretty sure they didn’t. At least catalogue versions.

I have a real fondness for the Nikki and Frankie style locomotives and I own the black, green, blue and the live steam versions. I keep an eye out for LGB offerings every year and have since I first started in LGB in 1985.
 
The green HFD loco is an Austrian loco, Nicki S. It ran on the Bregenzerwaldbahn but I am not sure whare else. That was produced as a model by LGB. I don’t think any 798 class locos were produced. Lotus lok made some models but I think they were mainly SKGLB models.
 
Can't match stevedenver stevedenver as I only have blue and green. But what what I do have is an English translation (and a very fluent one) of the above article done by a young Ukrainian friend of our who teaches German. It covers the whole history of the class and these specific locos.

Does anyone have the original article? - I assume the translation is text, but no pictures?

I would be interested in a good translation, but would need the illustrations to go with it.
