Does anybody know of better/smaller couplings for Bachmann Thomas

I am in the UK and I have some Bachmann stock and Emily conversions and hate the big couplings. Does anyone know of any easy fit smaller alternatives?DSCF7082.JPG

It depends what you would like to use - prototypical, knuckle or hook & loop. The Bachmann TT range can easily be fitted with more "conventional" Hook & Loop couplings as adaptors (to lower the coupling height) are supplied with rolling stock (at least with the coaching stock)

The Thomas stock does have coupling hooks. I am thinking of using three-link chain instead of the hook and loop couplers.

Just mind the buffer lock!

if you change to kadees how do you adjust the height? Thomas and co couplings are higher than the standard ones. They do provide a converter but that is hook and loop too.
Do you just accept that they can only couple to other Thomas stock?

The attached photo shows how I did my rear coupling by cutting out a bit of buffer beam. I did not bother with a front coupling.

very neat. These look like body mounted and are presumably at the "standard height" rather than the Thomas and friends only height
