I'm about to chip my Lyn. Probably going to use a Digitrax chip and a Tsunami sound board.

I've done a loco before, but just wondered if anyone has any tips for the Lyn.

Also where did you put the speaker and what size did you use?

Happy Christmas and thanks in adavance

I put a Soundtraxx in a Lyn and mounted the speaker in the cab roof in a suitable enclosure made out of plasticard.
The size was the largest I could fit, I think it was 2 1/4".

Thanks Guys, that's helpful. I was going to put the speaker under the boiler, that would have to be small - I hadn't considered the cab roof.

How about isolating the motor - any issues with that?

Yes there are some challenges - the same as converting to battery power I suspect. You have to open the motor block.

If I can attach the pdf, then a copy of my GSM thread on the subject is attached. If not, PM me with an email address and I will zap it over to you. It shows how I split the motor block amongst other things, with piccies.

Later... But no, it's too big a file. So if you would like it, please PM me your email address.
