What is the non connected wire for? I would guess at being a 2 pin power socket (only because the connector is blue) and is normally connected to the socket labelled "Multi-purpose-socket".

Non Marklin F7 units had sound only in the B unit, F7A just had a speaker. B units had 2 audio amplifiers, and could feed the AB configuration or an ABA.
Loose red/black wire is track power and connects to (steckdose) and goes to the front or rear socket.
