I know Diesel. But Paxton? :wondering:
Diesel is a Rev. Awdry creation. I believe his one and only appearance was in Book 13 Duck and the Diesel Engine.
Paxton is one of the plethora characters introduced since the franchise was sold on.
Originally my intention was to only purchase Rev. and Christopher Awdry characters, but I'm likely to purchase Paxton too. After all I did buy both Emily and Winston.

From what it's been seen, Arry and Bert are not well seller in the HO market.

There is like 9 of these 08 class locomotives as Characters now (with names) in the show.
'Devious' Diesel, Splatter, Dodge, 'Arry, Bert, Paxton, Sidney, Ulli, Fernando.
This is not counting the several seen without names.

Sounds like over kill. Why have they introduced more characters? There are plenty in the original books that have kept millions of kids happy for many years

Put it down the the greedy lot that bought the franchise and as original story lines have all be done they invent new trains to get new story lines.

Cynically speaking, more characters equals more toys to sell?

Ulli and Fernando has never made it to toy form.
They were just random 30 second one-off characters needed for plots.
