Diamond checkplate

In my challenge to build a scale Harz Kamel, I'm looking for some Diamond check plate for the running boards, see photo below of piko version, does anyone know of any plasticard that matches?

Another method:

Rough the surface of some Plasticard (a little thinner than you want the finished item. A good adhesive is then required, and stick some 'car body filler reinforcing mesh' to the plasticard. Weight it down well, and leave to dry..
Then spray a liberal coat of 'primer-filler' (spray-putty) to fill any 'voids' between mesh and plasticard. - Not too much!

Doh! Didn't think of that, I have some I could use, anyway ordered some 1:24 plasticard, so will see how that looks.
