Hello again
Earlier this year, I tried to first use my USA Trains, FA Unit which I had converted to DCC some 2 years ago using the LGB 55027 decoder. It had functioned perfectly when I put it away in the garden shed last autumn but it was dead when I came to use it. I tried to talk to it via my Massoth Navigator but absolutely no contact. I have finally got round to pulling it out and on the face of it, no visible problems. I am told that keeping it in a garden shed throughout last winter could be a factor with the prolonged very low temperatures but all the other locos in the shed are fine!!!

Any ideas?
Bill

Thanks but that is not my experience. Condensation is only an issue if you energise the unit when it is present. If the loco is dry there is no tracking path and there should not be any damage. All my other locos are fine after several years in the shed. I cannot help but think it is due to the prolonged cold weather.
