Viewers of the daily thread will be aware that I like to try and post a photograph, each day, from my personal collection of digital images, old 35mm negatives or transparencies. I also post the image into a Media File that I have named 'David's Pic of the Day'. They are an eclectic mix of, in the main, railway topics, be it model or full size. I like to avoid duplication so that almost without exception the Pic of the Day has not been seen before. Today (19.3.2019) is my 1,000th image. To anyone who does not bother I would urge them to have a troll though the file as I am sure that whatever your railway interest, there must be something in there to interest or inspire the viewer.

Here is a link to the Media file

Well done David, remember my first big number of likes. Insignificant compared to your picture efforts.

I had to stop posting a Pic of the Day, and adding to the album, as I had run out of my own photographs to post. Recently, I managed to take some new pics and re-started the Media Album. Today, the Media Album David's Pic of the Day has reached the 1,500 mark, although I am on the point of running out again, so future additions will be on an 'as and when' basis.
As always I commend the album to you as, hopefully, having something of interest for everyone, please enjoy. You can click on the link below to get into the album.

Having resurrected David's Pic of the Day, it has been a real struggle to find photographs that I have not previously posted, as it has always been my aim to avoid duplications. I have surprised myself that I have managed to keep going on a daily basis (some of you may actually be dismayed) but I am not sure I will be able to keep it going much longer. As always, I have attempted to post pics on varied subjects, hoping there is something there of interest for everyone. Anyway, here we are at the 1,600 mark in, terms of images, in the Media Album, link below.

Against the odds, I have managed to scrape together another 100 Pics of the Day, such that the Media Album David's Pic of the Day now contains 1,700 images. As always, I hope you find something of interest in there.

A great picture of a lovely engine. But, how exposed the crew would be, especially in the winter. They must have been pretty tough in those days
Apparently going to the West Somerset Railway this summer, so if the West Country weather lives up to it’s boasts they will be fine even tender first.
