how do you find the auxiliary voltage in the cv settings when editing a dcc loco, on central station 3+

Hi Dobby, I'm not familiar with CS3+ which may do some of this for you, but anyway, assuming you're using DCC (not mfx) I think you need to tell us which make and model of decoder is fitted to the loco, and ideally which auxiliary output you are trying to set the voltage for.

If by "auxiliary voltage" you mean setting the voltage for a function output, then you'll need to consult the detailed documentation for the make and model of decoder being used. Different decoders (especially different brands) will more than likely use different CV numbers and values.

Keep in mind that you're probably setting a PWM mark/space ratio (and obtaining an average voltage still with full voltage peaks) rather than actually producing a smooth analogue voltage value.

Indeed the question was rather vague. For instance fitting a ‘Massoth’ decoder to one of my locomotives I revised a couple of ‘CV’s’ to provide reduced Voltage to LED lamps as without revision full voltage at track level is apparently supplied from the output.. But there are other possible options, that could require reduced voltage, Servos and possibly (but not sure) smoke units.
