Annieshalt mentioned at our opendaythat he wold like a viaduct, BUT, Curved. Only 900mm tall and only single track. Heres how I am approaching it.

19 mm MDF cut into the correct curve. Don't forget the outer radius is bigger than the inner.

Arround the curves 6 mm MDF 50mm wide pinned and glued to the formers

Next work out the radius of the arches this determines the next pice of wood height.
In this case 185mm rad so I got my MDF cut to 225mm and glued andd screwed this to the opposite side of the formergoing the opposite way

Because the viaduct is 180 degrees two inner and two outer formers like this were made. The middle of the former is 100mm wideand the returns on the top were 35mm wide pluss two layers of 6mm 182 mm over where the track will fit.

Legs next. Thought I would make them a bit thinner than on my viaduct.
They taper both ways 100 wide at the top tapering up to 125 at the bottomthis way a small tenon can be formed to key the legs into the top. The sides of the legs taper from 50 mm at the top to 75 mm at the bottom

At first I thought about cutting the arch in the side MDF but the arch expands as you go from the inner to outer. The latest plan is to fill the arches with foam. Four pieces 25 mm thick. The intricate biit is to sculpt the foam to shape.. Hoping thatit will stand laminating
