crane

Yes I know that I said I was not going to build anything more this year ,but after seeing Syd's crane on the forum I thought why not . Syd's was a bit big for what I wanted so I thought I would make a smaller crane .and this what I have come up with. used all my scrap plastic up and 2 cotton reels and a bit of brass rod .

I had a couple of problems with the turn table at the bottom, as you can see from the pictures trial and error and this is what I have come up with .

That is nice Graham...you must of watched Blue Peter when you were little. Did you get the plastic card locally?

if only I had one I had made earlier I would not be making this one now . the plastic card came from back 2 bay 6 before he shut his Newport shop but he is still selling via the internet and shows .the model shop in Shrewsbury will order it for you and dapol at Chirk has the smaller sheets A4 size and clear plastic sheets .
hopefully when it stops raining will finish spraying the crane .now I am looking for a
L G B toy train flat bed if anyone out there has got one for sale please let me know .

the weather was good managed to spray the crane , some detail done but will wait for those nice people at dragon to send me a wagon .hopefully cardboard box in the post .this one is crying out for weathering .so once all the wagons are together they will all be weathered the same . am getting into this weathering bit but not brave enough to do an engine .

thanks for all your comments glad Steve got a plug in . thought you would like to see finished crane .just got one more wagon to do and then hopefully will weather it.

now hopefully will start playing trains unless someone else comes up with a good idea, Chris is already talking about me making a milk train trouble is if I make anything else we will need a bigger house
