At the weekend I completed some more track-work (pictures to follow) and as is my norm I put my little "Otto" test loco around to ensure no issue, and had it pull a couple of trucks up the gradient. Weather was nice so out came the Backman, and a coach or two, so what has this to do with coupling types:
The LGB couplings may not look prototype as much as the Backman ones do, however unless the Backman coupling is in near 100% perfect condition, then uncoupling takes place on a regular basis, LGB maybe slight harder to "manually" uncouple, but this is the way to go.
I understand that Backman do the hook and bar as a spare, but my second-hand stock did not come with any, so now on the look out for hook and bar couplings.
