So far I have drawn a blank with Modell Land and Champex Linden in obtaining a replacement rod for my Saxon (Stainz rods will fit I understand).
I would welcome any ideas please of who else might have these.
Hello keith...
Do you go to the northwest meets?
If so check Bay models stand as they have loads of spare parts, i got some spare cranks for my BoBo.
they seemed pretty cheap as well

Yes I do go and will check Bay Models as I usually do each month. I haven't spotted any there but then I wasn't looking specifically so there is hope.
Neil on close examination the rod is different to the one on the Saxon. That has "bolts" (they create the weak point where the rod sheared) incorporated to retain the big end cap.
I may end up trying the Stainz one if I can't track down the right one. At a couple of Euros + postage it certainly won't be the end of the world if it doesn't fit plus I have two Stainz which might need repair.
As the LGB motor block is common to most 4 wheel drive units I would think that almost any coupling rod will fit. The later plastic Stainz rods seem a better match than the metal ones shown in the Modell Land picture.
