Sorry that I couldn't make it Ian been off with wifey this week as it's been her birthday . Your railway is looking very nice looks like you had a very nice mix of stock running .

Had to do a double take on Dave's V200. Looks so much like a Warship in BR blue.

Loving the Claptowte Railway rake, would loved to have seen that in the flesh.

So thanks for the pictures everyone and thanks very much for the effort you made to travel, it really was a lovely afternoon, and a real eclectic bunch of stuff running that's for sure!!

I left for Poland the next day where I am still- so it is great to logon here and relive it a bit. I have some photos too- alec and David those are great.

Zerogee I am happy to be identified as the bigish bloke... ummm hang on that's not going to help ;D I am the one in the white baseball hat. edit I also noticed that Max has a white base ball hat! I also had a white t shirt...

I have to say the warship was the only one I tried to buy on the day :o , but I loved all of it.

I even had plenty of pie left for dinner! Thanks again for coming.

Questions, questions.

Firstly, I'm glad I'm not the only person to have thought of painting a V200 in a British livery and running it as such. Is this the LGB V200? And, does anyone know please, if that is the same as the Marklin V200? I really like this video of the Marklin machine pulling a bunch of British coaches.

and I was considering have him do the same for me ('cos I'm rather mechanically challenged).

Lastly, could some kind bod let me know the dimensions of an LGB V200 please - length, width and height would be great.

Depicted in the video is a Maerklin Gauge 1 engine, scale 1:32. Production ceased in 2013 and it's 577 mm long, according to Maerklin.

The digital LGB version is new this year. Strangely, it is 100 mm longer, scale 1:26. There was also an earlier version, analog. Details in gbdb.info
 
It can be quite confusing, as Marklin (Maerklin) produced 'gauge 1' products before acquiring the LGB brand..

Especially disappointing if you buy a Marklin gauge 1 product, thinking it is 'G' scale.. It tends to be a little small.


Personally, I use the terms 'Marklin/LGB' to refer to post take-over items (especially decoders) and 'LGB' for everything before..
