Coal Hauling

Even as coal is becoming a dirty word, we can still spoil the environment in our back yards.......... I made a coal conveyer from cat food feeder. Finally got the chance to try it out today. For some reason, I am having difficulty with the "Share" and "Watch Later" features on my Youtube channel. So here is the URL. I hope it works.

I like the cat food feeder adaptation.
You could bag up those rabbit droppings and sell them at the plant nursery. :giggle:

Works nicely, but from an environmental perspective I suspect that more diesel is being used than the amount of power to be gained from the limited supply of coal. Perhaps a big bin above to drop more to the loader may be appropriate. Even more automation to control dropping more coal to the loader. Would give that bloke with the windy handle a good workout then!

Coal will be transported for a long time yet.
There is not a single steel producer in the world who has found a way of making steel without using large quantities of coal.
UK uses 3.5 million tonnes just for steel making, most of that being imported.

:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:.....Those rabbet droppings are Lionel coal, used specifically for their rotary coal unloader. Come to think of it, deer droppings are quite similar, albeit slightly larger. With our deer infestation I should never run out of fuel.....:giggle:

That, and iron ore - I'm not an ardent fan of Greta Thunberg, but I think one of the things that set her thinking was Sweden's exports of iron ore. All of the aspects, the rate of depletion of the raw deposits, the quantities being moved, the carbon footprint of the transport, and what the stuff is being used for.

As you say, it will take a long time to re-think all of these demands on the environment.

Nice use of animation I love it.

Your next mission should you decide to accept it; is to figure a return conveyor so that there is a continuous loop of coal.

With the loss of the cat feeder, have the cats learned to feed themselves? :wasntme:

Thread drift on.

Greg,
Surely I would have thought that you have learned by now (being a cat slave and all) that cats do nothing for themselves.
Have you ever heard of the age old saying of "Dogs have masters; Cats have Staff/Servants"
I know full well that El Moggo who owns this house (or so he thinks) does nothing except eat, sleep, and that other thing that comes from eating.
Every other one of his needs is provided by the household staff.

Thread drift now turned off

Funny! I had just carried a treat over to our Ragdoll cat who was lounging on the top of the sofa. He did purr and "cluck" a bit in appreciation. Yes our cat is completely spoiled.
No Greg, you've got it wrong! You're the one who's spoilt, by your cat graciously allowing you to feed him treats.

How about coffee beans? Less need to wash your hands afterwards...
