With the wether being somewhat wet today I went upi the club and did some testing. No really - I have just finished fitting Tortoise point motors and this was the first time I had run the layout. WHile doing this testing I had my phone with me so I took a few photos

Last week she was cruising up the Poonang Pass with a large payload and this week she is just switching a few wagons in the yard.

Suddenly there was a noise downstairs. The OO group were demonstrating how you need dcc if you want to have really good crashes

Shunting or switching as I should call it is much better with point motors.
Here the U boat has just arrived with two empty blue boxcars but they can only be taken through the headshunt one at a time.

One of the full Santa Fe boxcars in Charlie Ro's loading bay is moved to allow the first blue car to be spotted.

Then the Santa Fe cars are mnoved again to make space for the next blue wagon

The other blue wagon is backed into the now empty bay. Notice all the boxes of USA Trains and Aristo items waiting to be shipped on the loading bay.

The U boat then pulls the Santa Fe wagons out.

She then runs round the wagons and we are ready to roll

The whole sequence takes about 20 minutes when doen properly. Keeps me quite anyway.

Layout looks great Chris, I particularly like the crud ballast it really gives it atmosphere
