Fellow enthusiasts. Could anyone advise me of the different versions of the 4 wheel Christmas trams like 72351. which years were they issued for? Are there different liveries?
Thank you, Van 5

The 72351 tram was issued in a set with track & 110v controller for sale in the US only. Its mate, the blue 32351 trailer was issued the following year available worldwide. I came across one of the Richters at a show & questioned him on why I could by a trailer but not a tram. Marketing policy was his answer.
An earlier Christmas tram was the 20355 set issued about 1988. Apparently LGB made a special red 20th aniversary set & it didnt sell. They relabled them & sold them in the states as Christmas trams.

Thank you. Mike. I have just purchased a 72351 set containing a tram fitted with a headboard printed Christmas 2015 which looks original.

Just found another couple of pictures. The advert boards are not original.

The underside of my tram , the motor block is labelled Marklin16009321 and has a small sticker showing L72351 24V/DC, 0916 MAHU.
I have not tested it yet but love the appearance. Regards, Derek 84 year old with a new toy.

When you come to test it just check the power unit is 230v as the original sets were 110v only. Mine came from Europe & the power unit had been removed.
It looks like yours was made in 2016 from the labels.

I have checked the very insubstantial electrics compared with normal LGB, all appears OK. I doubt that I will use the set supplied as I have a couple of the one piece transformer controller units . Thank you for the warning Mike, Regards, Derek

The seasons greeting tram looks like the very first version I have (read before year 2000). This version did not have a window in front of the operator and did not have doors.

These trams did not have a windscreen but came complete with doors. These often were never fitted or were lost but were in the box when new..
