With the completion and placing the new ModelTown buildings on the CFR, I have taken the opportunity to renovate some of the older buildings:-

All growth and detritus has been removed from the buildings. They were then given a good wash and allowed to dry. A coat of paint adhesive was applied and after a couple of hours each building was spray under coated. They will be left for 24 hours before the next coat of paint is applied.

Green undercoat on the doors. Second coat of paint on the walls and roof.

And so, a new life begins! Inspirational as per your norm Paul - although I did like the look of the weathered masonry!

Thanks for the kind remarks Mick. I too liked the natural weathered look, however, if I had left it to Mother Nature the buildings would not have suited a working station. I’m sure that in due course the buildings will once again begin to show the effects of the weather.

More buildings getting the makeover:-

Buildings have had a coat of satin grey, then when dry the window frames and doors were painted with green undercoat. They will now be left for 24 hours before glossing.

The next two buildings to get refurbished:-

They have both received a spray of satin grey and are now ready for the next stage.

They will do Casey, looking good sir!;)

I see your line is getting a mention on ists expansion in one of the 1:1 railway comics current editions, Heritage Railway I think it was. Perhaps you should get them along to do a write up. Would make bright a change from the glut of doom and gloom stories dominating this sector of the economy. Max

Work has proceeded a pace, various shades of grey applied to the stone walls, window frames and doors have been glossed. The paints need 24 hours to dry thoroughly before I start applying Coates of varnish:-

This is how I hope the buildings will come together.

He is certainly getting them built faster than the builders at the new estate in the nits. Not even one house finished in 6 weeks, what are they doing? Need to get Casey on the job!

Nice Job Paul, looks like some room for a Garden Railway in that Garden?
Yes indeed Jon, but Gwyneth is adamant that there will be no Garden Railway. She’s tolerating my building kits and refurbishments to the extent that I have taken over the conservatory as my workshop.
