Buyer beware, far east 'copies' listed as LGB in the title

The seller does say quite plainly that it is made by NQ and compatible with LGB, so doesn't seem to be pulling the wool over anyone's eyes.

Probably should have said compatible with LGB, Bachmann, Accucraft etc. Or just G-scale.

Shame he hasn't got any of the 2 X Gondola's they do want some for my log train :crying:

Steady lads.

I find the cars in particular very anoying. I want to search LGB and I get about 30 cars listed.

Click on the link on the Nequida tanker page for 'g scale' and you get loads of scales coming up. Must go and weigh up the pros and cons ...

A lot of my clients are Lesbian Gay & Bisexual, should I ban them because they aren't German?
Please, people, get real. It doesn't claim to be LGB and doesn't ask LGB prices, so you know what you are going to get.
Sadly this is not the case on ebay.de where they don't say anything but ask LGB prices. Now, who is the more honest?
And can we please stop this petty bickering once and for all, it's a total pain up the rump.

I can "kind of" understand the Pola and Piko kits, Aristo track, etc, but yes, when diecast cars, dollhouse and Christmas village garbage gets LGB smacked on it and put into the LGB catagory, it is enough to get the blood to boil.

But then I too regularly report this stuff to eBay, some gets yanked, others (especially if it is a power seller) does not.

99p cheaper than STO Racing. But how about shipping?

Thanks for the heads up

A couple of listings like this with 'LGB' in the title, clearly this is against Ebay rules and I have off course complained!!!
This is no different to many other listings - if you complain about this then you should be complaining about hundreds of other listings as well.

Looks like the LGB thought police are out again.

I see no deception in these listings, it's perfectly clear what they are. Don't understand what the fuss is about.

It seems quite common for sellers to include LGB in the title so it comes up in people's searches. Sometimes it's a minor irritation but generally doesn't bother me as I don't tend to find stuff by searching, I just browse the categories.

I have no particular argument for LGB or Newqida. Perhaps the seller should of been a little more clear in the description. I do however, fully suppoert Newqida in making a mark, for the simple reason that i cannot justify spending £150+ for the similar coach that LGB make. ITS PLASTIC. It is Newqida that got one of my mates to enter in to g scale on a budget to start off with.
Regarding the advert, yes, it should be clear, but i dont object to people selling them. Its all in the wording.

The tooling is LGB as bought from Marklin and they do not breach Trading Standards. That really should be the end of the argument

It's not like Trading Standards have not been investigating these.

I bet this thread is being watched by more moderators than any other in the history of GSC....8D

If they use the original tooling they aren't copies and they certainly aren't rip offs. They certainly aren't originals either and can't be called replica's as they do not have all the same fittings. So what are they?

Polite answers only please!

They're completely legal, cheap toys - end of. People should get used to these facts.

Has anyone actually bought any of these that could give a report on their quality? I have been very tempted to get some, and even if it's not top drawer, can't go wrong at that price! I saw some yellow ones a while ago, shame they couldn't get the spelling right with 'Shall'.
